Double good news!
Our board member Saja Erens is currently in Tanzania, where she visits our projects. In Moshi she met Oscar Issangya. Saja and Oscar signed the sponsorship contract, with which Oscar is officially the first participant in our project "Adopt an ultrasound technician!". Thanks in part to your support, he was able to start the ultrasound course at KCMC Hospital on 1 April. He has found shelter in the new hostel next to the hospital. The first course week consisted mainly of observing and getting to know the basic principles of ultrasound.
Saja also met Dr. Kalambo, the head of the echo training, that same day. She spoke to him about the goals of our foundation. Then it became clear once again how much difference a personal conversation can make: we were immediately offered extra training places from Dr. Kalambo! This allows midwife Veronika Tarimo to start the course on Monday. She is the second participant in our project "Adopt a sonographer!". Veronika is employed by TPC Hospital and works as a nurse midwife on the Mamabus 2.0, among others. More about this soon.
